National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health Conference 2025 Walking together every step of the way

The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health Conference 2025 was on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 July.

More than 600 people came to the conference in person and online. The theme of the conference was ‘Walking together every step of the way’.

Highlights from the conference included:

  • All the people with intellectual disability who shared their stories and experiences
  • Dr Gloria Krahn, our international keynote speaker from Oregon State University
  • New research on models of care in intellectual disability health
  • Panel discussion on culturally safe and inclusive approaches to intellectual disability health
  • Bus Stop Films screening and panel discussion
  • Panels on advocacy on health for people with intellectual disability, social sexual and women’s health, and research co-design in intellectual disability health
  • As well as workshops, activities, and short talks on everything from heart health to staying safe online.

A big thank you to every person with intellectual disability who shared their voice, everyone who joined us in person and online, all our amazing presenters and facilitators, and our consortium members and partners who made this possible.
