The Centre is setting up a new Family and Supporters Advisory Group.
What will the Family and Supporters Advisory Group do?
As a member of this advisory group, you will:
- give advice about health resources that need to be reviewed or updated
- help identify new health resources that are needed
- help make sure resources are accessible
- give feedback on resources
- help guide the design of new resources.
Who will be in the Family and Supporters Advisory Group?
The group will have 6-8 members from across Australia.
Members will be family members or support people of a person with intellectual disability.
We are looking for people who are interested in:
- improving health for people with intellectual disability
- sharing ideas about health information
- helping make health resources easier to understand and use.
We want the group to include people with different experiences.
We particularly want to hear from people who support a person with intellectual disability who:
- is First Nations
- is from a culturally and linguistically diverse background
- lives in a rural or remote area
- has complex support needs.
What will the Family and Supporters Advisory Group do?
As a member of this advisory group, you will:
- give advice about health resources that need to be reviewed or updated
- help identify new health resources that are needed
- help make sure resources are accessible
- give feedback on resources
- help guide the design of new resources.
When are the meetings?
The group will meet online for two hours every two months.
Upcoming meetings are:
- Monday 22 February 2027, 6pm to 8pm AEDT
- Monday 26 April 2027, 6pm to 8pm AEST
- Monday 28 June 2027, 6pm to 8pm AEST
Payment and support
You will receive an honorarium for each meeting you attend.
It will be $200.
