2026 Innovation Seed Funding Grants Funding for projects that put evidence into practice and create real change in health services for people with intellectual disability.


The Centre's 2026 Seed Funding Grant round opens on 26 May 2026.

The Centre is offering two grants of $100,000 to support practical, implementation‑focused projects that improve health care for people with intellectual disability.

These grants are designed for health services and service providers who are ready to turn evidence into action, not early‑stage research, but real‑world change that can be delivered within 18 months.

Projects must be:

  • Led by a health service or service provider supporting people with intellectual disability
  • Implementation‑focused, not exploratory or early‑stage research
  • Co‑designed with people with intellectual disability and/or families
  • Delivered in partnership with research, implementation or evaluation experts
  • Practical, feasible, and completed within 18 months.

Key dates

  • Applications open: Tuesday 26 May 2026
  • 2026 Information webinar: Tuesday 26 May, 11am–12pm AEST
  • Applications close: Monday 13 July 2026
  • Outcomes notified: By October 2026
  • Projects commence: January 2027.

Who should apply
We welcome applications from:

  • Health services delivering care to people with intellectual disability
  • Service providers supporting people with intellectual disability
  • Teams with research, implementation or evaluation partners.

Not eligible: early‑stage research, individuals without a service setting, or organisations seeking general/flexible funding.
