The Centre made a Submission on the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards (third edition).

We made the submission because we think the Standards need a specific focus on people with intellectual disability.

We made the following recommendations:

1. There should be a specific standard focused on Diversity.
    
2. Other standards should regularly refer to the Diversity standard and spell out specific actions within the province of each standard. This should include specific highlighting of key actions needed in relation to people with intellectual disability.
