Associate Professor Rebecca Koncz (FRANZCP, PhD) is passionate about improving mental health outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Rebecca has been appointed Chair of Intellectual Disability Mental Health at UNSW, the role that Julian Trollor held for 15 years.
Rebecca says, "I am excited to join such a fantastic team of people committed to improving the health of people with intellectual disability.”
“We will work with people with lived experience, their families and advocates, as well as government and other organisations, to improve mental health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Rebecca is a neuropsychiatrist with extensive clinical experience working with people with intellectual disability. As Chair of Intellectual Disability Mental Health, Rebecca will also be Clinical Academic within the Mental Health Program of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Rebecca’s role is jointly funded by the NSW Ministry of Health and the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. The role is based within the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health at UNSW.
