Culturally safe inclusive research training

It's important that research about people with intellectual disability is done in partnership with people with intellectual disability. This is co-designed research.

We must do co-designed research in a way that is culturally safe and inclusive.

There is no training for researchers to do this type of research with First Nations people with intellectual disability.

This project will build on the Centre's existing inclusive research training.

The new training program will align with other inclusive research projects and incorporate the lived experience of First Nations people.

A First Nations researcher will lead project.

The training will incorporate feedback from First Nations communities.

The project will be ethics approved to ensure we follow cultural best practice.
