Scope and cost a best-practice model of care in the health system for people with intellectual disability

We will work with the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) to identify people with intellectual disability and scope an 'intellectual disability adjustment' in public hospital settings.

The adjustment reflects the cost to provide best-practice care to people with intellectual disability in hospitals.

This information will inform future projects, such as training in best-practice health care, when the adjustment is applied.

The project aims to show the benefits of providing quality care to people with intellectual disability in hospitals.
