Hello, I am Siobhan.

I am a research officer at the Centre.

A research officer is someone who finds information and explains it to help others use it.

I want to make preventive health better for people with intellectual disability.

Preventive health means taking steps to stay healthy and stopping problems before they start.

This includes things like

• Cancer screening
• Immunisations
• Eating healthy

I work with people with intellectual disability to do this research.

• We look at how people with intellectual disability experience preventive health
• We look at how governments include people with intellectual disability in preventive health policies
• We are testing a model of preventive healthcare

In my spare time, I swim in the sea and go camping.
