Community Connections Tour - NT

In Larrakia country (Darwin)

Meeting with key members of the Territory's Health and Disability organisations - 6 October 2025

While in Darwin, Julia met with key members of the Territory's Health and Disability organisations. Many issues were raised, including:

  • Better training and resources for health care professionals
  • Improvements in acute care and coordination
  • The need to attract and retain more health and allied health professionals to the Territory
  • Culturally safe and inclusive outreach to First Nations People and Communities

Workshop - 6 October 2025

Our second Community Connections Tour workshop was held in Darwin on 6 Ocotober. Participants shared their thoughts on health care in their local community and highlighted the importance of being listened to. The workshop was expertly co-facilitated by Inclusion Northern Territory team member, Ben.

In Jawoyan / Dagoman / Wardaman country (Katherine)

Workshop - 8 October 2025

Key messages from our workshop in Katherine were around the need for more health care professionals in the region, including doctors and allied health professionals. Workshop members also spoke clearly about having greater control over their health care.

Thank you!

A big thank you to Step Out Disability Services and our partners at Inclusion NT for supporting the Community Connections Tour in the Northern Territory.
