I’m Uncle Willy and I’m a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Centre.
I was born on the Aboriginal mission of Cherbourg in Wakka Wakka country, and I have a spiritual connection to the Kalkadoon peoples of Mt Isa.
I was born with a disability in the 1960’s, a time where Indigenous people were not recognised as Australian citizens and were considered property of the government.
I was one of the first members of the Disability Council of Queensland in 1999.
The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health recognises and respects the Traditional Custodians of Country across Australia.
