Meeting with the team at Parent 2 Parent (P2P) - 18 November 2025
Julia met with the team at P2P on 18 November. P2P is the Queensland Agency for Inclusion Australia. They support people with disabilities and their families by providing access to advocacy, resources, information sharing, and peer support.
Workshop - 19 November 2025
Our Sunshine Coast workshop was held on 19 November. Julia partnered with P2P's self-advocacy group Loud and Clear to hear about health care in the region. The workshop was expertly co-delivered by self-advocate Payge from P2P.
We heard that the transition from paediatric to adult health care is challenging.
We also heard that people want health information and medicine instructions in Easy Read. Easy Read is a document written in basic language with short sentences and lots of pictures.
